TECHNICAL SALES SPECIALIST

POSITION: TECHNICAL SALES SPECIALIST REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF SALES & MARKETING EMPLOYMENT STATUS: FULL-TIME – EXEMPT PRIMARY POSITION OBJECTIVE: The technical sales specialist primarily handles the onboarding of new accounts and relationship maintenance of large, existing, key accounts. This role will combine technical expertise, consultative selling, customer relationship management, and business development to provide customers with reliable hose solutions for industrial and hydraulic applications. The technical sales specialist must strategize management of each of his/her accounts and set objectives for on-going communication and follow up providing real hose solutions that are tailored to individual applications and work with the customer to provide onboarding support including EDI and forecasting facilitation. The technical sales specialist understands hose construction, pressure ratings, fittings, assemblies, application requirements, and industry standards, and can translate customer requirements into the right technical solution. This position will manage conflict and determine effective negotiation and sales strategies. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Perform all aspects of the sales process, including, not limited to: • Identifying and understanding the requirements of prospects and new and current customers. • Processing daily transactions such as quotes, orders, back-orders, RMAs, deviations, forecasting, EDI, and other account requests. • Establishing and nurturing long-term relationships with new and existing accounts. • Maintaining account management reporting through corporate CRM. • Collaborating with engineering and materials team to create customer proposals, as needed. • Ability to understand and interpret hose specifications, prints, pressure ratings, temperature ratings, dimensions, and application requirements. • Strong understanding of hydraulic hose assemblies, fittings, adapters, couplings, and related components. • Familiarity with industry standards and specifications such as SAE, ISO, and/or EN
