Role Description
We are seeking a driven, detail-oriented Technical Sales Representative to join our team. This role is the bridge between our advanced manufacturing capabilities and our customers' most challenging engineering problems. The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator who is as comfortable reading engineering prints as they are building long-term relationships with customers. You should be a hands-on learner with the technical aptitude to interface effectively with engineering and purchasing departments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Technical Quoting: Analyze engineering prints and specifications to generate accurate, competitive quotes for custom manufactured parts.
- Business Development: Proactively identify prospective customers, manage lead generation, and expand our footprint within existing accounts.
- Consultative Selling: Deeply understand our laser and fabrication technologies to articulate how Accumet solves specific customer pain points.
- Relationship Management: Maintain consistent follow-up on sent quotes and manage the customer relationship post-delivery to ensure total satisfaction.
- Negotiation: Manage price and term negotiations and finalize sales agreements that align with company goals.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with production and engineering teams to ensure customer requirements are met and schedules are maintained.
- Vendor Management: Source and coordinate vendor pricing for specialized raw materials or outside services.
- CRM Excellence: Maintain accurate records and contact lists within Fulcrum (our CRM software) to ensure seamless communication.
Minimum Requirements
- Experience: Proven experience in a sales or quoting/estimating role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Mathematical Proficiency: Strong basic math skills, including the ability to calculate margins, perform unit conversions (metric/standard), and interpret geometric dimensions.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D engineering drawings.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor in person, on the phone, and via email.
- Organization: Strong time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple quotes and deadlines simultaneously.
- Attitude: A "customer-first" mentality and a self-motivated drive to succeed.

- Activity: Occasionally required to stand, walk, and lift or move up to 30 pounds.
- Vision: Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus for detailed print reviews.
- Environment: Periodic exposure to a manufacturing floor environment, which may include fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise levels.
