Pay Range: $80 - $88.31/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:
- Review complex customer contracts and commercial arrangements to determine revenue recognition implications under ASC 606.
- Evaluate non-standard contract terms, bundled offerings, usage-based pricing, committed spend, and contract modifications.
- Develop, document, and communicate technical accounting conclusions and recommendations.
- Partner with Deal Desk, Legal, Sales, Revenue Operations, Billing, Product, and Strategic Finance teams to provide accounting guidance.
- Design and improve scalable revenue accounting processes, systems, controls, and workflows.
- Support accounting requirements related to new product launches, pricing changes, and evolving commercial models.
- Prepare and maintain technical accounting memos, policy documentation, and audit-ready supporting materials.
- Support internal and external audits and collaborate on initiatives to improve the accuracy and efficiency of revenue accounting operations.
- Ensure revenue accounting policies and procedures remain aligned with applicable accounting standards and business requirements.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in public accounting, accounting advisory, technical accounting, revenue accounting, or corporate accounting.
- Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and experience applying revenue recognition standards to complex customer arrangements.
- Experience evaluating non-standard contracts, contract modifications, variable consideration, multi-element arrangements, principal-versus-agent considerations, and material rights.
- Understanding of usage-based, consumption-based, and subscription revenue models.
- Experience working with technology, SaaS, cloud, AI, infrastructure, or other complex business models.
- Strong technical accounting judgment and the ability to translate complex accounting concepts into practical business guidance.
- Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders, including Legal, Sales, Deal Desk, Billing, Finance, and external auditors.
- Demonstrated ability to develop or improve accounting processes, internal controls, and operational workflows.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- CPA certification required; inactive CPA status is acceptable.
- Experience with Big 4 or national accounting firms in accounting advisory practices, including ARA, FAAS, CMAAS, AAS, or similar groups.
- Experience supporting fast-growing technology or SaaS organizations.
- Experience building scalable technical accounting policies and frameworks for evolving commercial business models.
