    Accounts Payable and Administrative Support

    Schedule: Monday-Friday 8 am to 5 pm 1 hour lunch

    Location: 8150 Chinden Boulevard, Boise ID 83714

    Are you looking for a position where your attention to detail matters, your ideas are valued, and your work directly supports an entire district?

    The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is recruiting for a Technical Records Specialist 1 to join the Administrative Team in our District 3 office in Boise, Idaho.

    This position is primarily responsible for processing invoices and other financial transactions accurately and on time. It also provides administrative, payroll, and front-office support for employees, vendors, and members of the public. The person in this role will become a trusted resource who helps keep the district organized, welcoming, and operating smoothly.

    What You Will Do

    Accounts Payable and Financial Support

    Approximately 60% of the position

    The primary responsibility of this position is ensuring invoices and other financial transactions are complete, accurate, properly coded, and processed within established deadlines.

    Customer Service and Administrative Support

    Approximately 30% of the position

    This position helps create welcoming and professional experience for employees, vendors, customers, and visitors. It also supports the day-to-day needs of the district office.

    Payroll Support

    Approximately 10% of the position

    This position assists with district-wide payroll processing and helps ensure employee time is entered accurately and submitted by established deadlines.

    Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors
    • Researching a variety of sources to resolve problems
    • Interpreting, explaining and applying regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments
    • Entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system

    Preferred Qualifications

    The most competitive candidates will demonstrate:

    • Excellent customer service, communication, and professional judgment
    • Experience processing invoices, payments, or other financial transactions
    • Working knowledge of accounts payable or general accounting procedures
    • Experience reconciling, balancing, and proofing financial data
    • Ability to identify and troubleshoot errors in automated financial or accounting systems
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, and Excel, and other computerized business systems
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet recurring deadlines
    • Attention to detail while maintaining an efficient and practical approach to completing work
    • Ability to learn new systems, procedures, and financial requirements
    • Ability to research problems, evaluate available information, and recommend a path forward
    • Willingness to ask questions, accept feedback, and take responsibility for assigned work
    • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
    • Flexibility and willingness to assist wherever needed
    • Dependability, sound judgment, and consistent follow-through
