Technical Project Manager –PaymentsJob OverviewWe are seeking an experienced
Technical Project Manager to lead complex technology initiatives within the payments and financial services space. The role will manage projects from planning through implementation and stabilization while coordinating business, technology, operations, risk, compliance, security, and third-party teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end delivery, including scope, timelines, budget, resources, risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Establish project governance, reporting, and stakeholder communication.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across technology, operations, architecture, testing, security, and business functions.
- Lead projects involving payment processing, APIs, messaging, clearing and settlement, reconciliation, and payment platforms.
- Work with technical teams to understand system integrations, interfaces, and dependencies.
- Define and manage testing, implementation, cutover, rollback, and post-production support.
- Manage vendors and third-party partners.
- Provide clear status updates and drive issues through resolution.
Must-Have- 10 years of experience delivering complex technology projects, preferably in financial services or payments.
- Strong experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
- Strong project governance, risk, issue, dependency, and change management experience.
- Experience with production implementation and operational readiness.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-Have- Payments, clearing, settlement, or financial services experience.
- Knowledge of ISO 20022, SWIFT, real-time payments, payment gateways, or account-to-account payments.
- Experience with reconciliation, fraud/sanctions screening, or payment investigations.
- Exposure to cloud, microservices, APIs, or event-driven architecture.
- PMP, PRINCE2, AgilePM, or Scrum certification.
