About the Role
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to support a large-scale data center migration project involving approximately 3,000 physical servers.
The Project Manager will coordinate application and technology teams to plan and execute server and network migrations, manage change approvals, and ensure successful completion of each migration window.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate server and network migrations across data centers.
- Work with Application Teams and technology teams to establish migration Green Zones/change windows.
- Coordinate ServiceNow change requests, approvals, and CAB requirements.
- Manage project schedules, requirements, risks, issues, and status reporting.
- Coordinate Network Engineering, Systems Administration, Virtualization, SDN, Application, and Change Management teams.
- Lead weekly and ad hoc meetings and ensure the appropriate teams are engaged.
- Drive issues and scheduling conflicts toward resolution and escalate when necessary.
- Coordinate communications throughout migration/change windows and ensure successful completion.
- Maintain project documentation, metrics, and tracking.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of IT Project Management experience
- 1 3 years of IT Operations and/or Change Management experience
- Experience with data center, server, network, or infrastructure migrations
- Familiarity with ServiceNow and CAB/change management processes
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and ability to communicate with technical teams
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and a high volume of communication
- Confident in driving teams, resolving conflicts, and keeping projects on schedule
Tools
Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Excel, Outlook, and Teams preferred.
Schedule & Location
- Las Colinas/Irving, TX
- 3 days onsite per week
- Must be available to work occasional evenings, overnight, and weekend migration windows
- Green Zone changes may occur during evenings, overnight hours, or weekends and may last several hours.
Project Duration
The project is currently expected to continue through December 2027.
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Ideal candidate: A technically savvy IT Project Manager with data center/infrastructure migration experience who can confidently coordinate multiple teams, manage change processes, and drive difficult projects through to completion.
The IT Project Manager deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family.
Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results.
Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities.
Under direction of the PM Lead coordinate Server & Network migrations across Datacenters. Coordination of Green Zones and change approvals with Application Teams, Sector Service Delivery teams, CAB committees, change management, multiple technology teams (Network Engineering & Operations, Systems Administration, Virtualization and SDN Operations). This will include driving to successful outcomes within a given timeline, transparency in risk management and reporting. Adherence to Change Management Process and following process as outlined by Lead PM and project sponsor.
Responsibilities:
Coordinates change management activities by identifying necessary resources and developing schedules to meet completion deadlines.
- Changes take place during application and / or network Green Zones (Green Zones can be middle of the night Saturday/Sunday (12am -5am), during the weekdays, or anytime on weekend after business hours depending on Application/ Business impact). There is a requirement to work during Green Zones to coordinate communications throughout entire change window.
- Coordinate & Collaborate with application teams and technology teams on Green Zone windows for each change upcoming and coordinate CHG submission through full approval in ServiceNow system.
- Communicates with project staff and clients regarding status of projects.
- Utilizes project management tools and provides project status tracking and metrics. Escalate items that require immediate attention quickly and efficiently to minimize impact
- Interact with Global, Cross Functional and Virtual teams
- Host weekly and ad hoc calls (sometimes on weekends) where required to engage correct teams
- Collaborates in development of project plans and develops requirement documentation. Contributes to process improvement efforts - Exchanges ideas and information in a concise and logical manner.
- Evaluates business processes, system processes and industry standards.
- Applies good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing objectives.
- Makes evaluative judgments based on analysis of information; resolves problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents.
- Directly impacts the business by ensuring the quality of work provided by self and others meets the standards of the data center project team.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
- Ability to work US hours as well as nights and weekends.
Qualifications:
- 5 years' experience in an IT project management role is a must.
- 1 -3 years' hands-on experience in IT Operations management and Change Management
- Should have good communication skills
- Highly organized and able to manage hundreds of emails daily
- Experience with MS Outlook, MS Teams, Excel, MS Project, Jira, Confluence
