Technical Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead and coordinate complex datacenter and cloud migration initiatives across enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of project management expertise, technical acumen, stakeholder management, and delivery leadership. This role will be responsible for driving infrastructure transformation projects, including on-premises datacenter migrations, cloud adoption (AWS/Azure), VMware platform transitions, and application migration programs while ensuring quality, budget, and schedule objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Delivery Management
  • Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of datacenter and cloud migration projects.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Track project progress, manage scope changes, and ensure timely delivery within budget.
  • Drive project governance and adherence to organizational delivery standards.
Technical Coordination & Architecture Alignment
  • Partner with solution architects, infrastructure teams, cloud engineers, and application owners to define migration strategies and technical roadmaps.
  • Coordinate technical design reviews and ensure all dependencies are identified and managed.
  • Maintain current-state and target-state architecture documentation, migration plans, and deployment schedules.
  • Facilitate migration readiness assessments and cutover planning activities.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Management
  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, engineering teams, vendors, and leadership.
  • Facilitate communication across infrastructure, networking, security, cloud, and application teams.
  • Drive decision-making, issue resolution, and stakeholder alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
Agile & Delivery Governance
  • Manage Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid project delivery methodologies.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, status reviews, and steering committee meetings.
  • Ensure teams remain aligned on priorities, deliverables, and project objectives.
Risk, Quality & Issue Management
  • Proactively identify project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies (RAID).
  • Develop mitigation and contingency plans to minimize delivery impact.
  • Coordinate testing activities including integration testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and post-migration validation.
  • Ensure quality standards and operational readiness requirements are met before production deployment.
Budget & Resource Management
  • Develop project budgets and resource plans in collaboration with technical teams and vendors.
  • Track project expenditures and forecast future resource requirements.
  • Monitor budget adherence and provide financial reporting to leadership.
Executive Reporting & Metrics
  • Prepare executive dashboards, status reports, and presentation materials for leadership and steering committees.
  • Track and report key performance indicators, including:
    • Schedule adherence
    • Budget performance
    • Migration success rates
    • Defect trends
    • Team velocity
    • Resource utilization
Vendor & Partner Management
  • Coordinate vendor onboarding, Statements of Work (SOWs), and contract-related activities.
  • Manage vendor deliverables, timelines, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure third-party resources align with project objectives and service expectations.
Documentation & Knowledge Management
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including:
    • Project charters
    • Migration plans
    • Architecture diagrams
    • RAID logs
    • Meeting minutes
    • Status reports
    • Cutover and rollback plans

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of project/program management experience in enterprise IT environments.
  • Proven experience managing datacenter, infrastructure, cloud, or application migration programs.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional technical teams and external vendors.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, and risks.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery models.
