Senior Technical Project Manager
LABUR is partnering with a client to identify a Senior Technical Project Manager to lead multiple high-priority workstreams within a large enterprise security transformation program. This contract role calls for a hands-on, client-facing project manager comfortable stepping into an environment where project structure and governance are still evolving. The ideal candidate brings strong technical project management experience, broad technical fluency, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the maturity to operate independently in a fast-moving consulting environment. Cybersecurity subject matter expertise is not required.
Responsibilities
- Own multiple technical and security workstreams end-to-end, driving projects from initial definition through execution and delivery.
- Rapidly assess objectives, backlogs, stakeholders, dependencies, risks, and delivery expectations, then translate partially defined initiatives into clear project plans, milestones, and actionable increments.
- Establish and manage project governance, including status routines, RAID management, escalation processes, decision tracking, and stakeholder communications.
- Drive technical teams and client stakeholders toward commitments, maintaining accountability for deliverables, milestones, and deadlines.
- Prioritize activities based on risk reduction, business value, dependencies, and achievable outcomes while identifying resource constraints, skill gaps, and cross-workstream dependencies that could impact delivery.
- Maintain accurate project data within Jira to support portfolio-level and executive reporting, producing concise updates on progress, risks, decisions, and expected outcomes.
- Partner with program leadership to ensure consistency across workstreams, navigate organizational complexity, and operate as a proactive extension of the consulting team-identifying issues, recommending improvements, and escalating barriers appropriately.
Qualifications
- Significant experience managing complex technical projects or programs within enterprise environments, including initiatives with limited structure, ambiguity, or incomplete requirements.
- Strong command of project planning, execution, governance, dependency management, risk management, and executive reporting across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Proficiency in Jira, including managing epics, stories, backlogs, milestones, and delivery reporting within Agile or hybrid delivery environments.
- Strong technical fluency with the ability to partner effectively with engineering, architecture, infrastructure, and security teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, and escalation skills paired with strong executive presence.
- Previous consulting or client-facing delivery experience, with the maturity to represent a consulting organization directly with senior client stakeholders in fast-paced, high-visibility environments.
Compensation
$60-$65/hr - Dependent on fit and experience.
