    Description

Data Center Serviceability team works with hundreds of data centers globally to deliver the highest quality and lowest cost availability, capacity, and scaling results for our customers. We standardize operations globally by delivering tools, policy, processes, and procedures to our internal teams.

Serviceability is the ability to maintain, repair, and manage infrastructure assets efficiently throughout their lifecycle, encompassing maintenance standards, spares management, training and certifications, operational readiness, and the systematic use of data and automation to prevent disruptions and drive continuous improvement.

We are seeking a Technical Program Manager to support serviceability for water systems across our data centers. Water quality management is a critical and fast-growing area of data center operations, where evaporative cooling, condenser water, and makeup water systems must be kept safe, compliant, and reliable to protect both people and infrastructure. This role will define how water systems are sampled, maintained, and kept within regulatory compliance as we scale from early programs to a global fleet, with a focus on proactively catching water quality issues before they drive equipment degradation or infrastructure downtime.

    What you will do:

You will own the serviceability program for water systems across the fleet. You will write and maintain preventive maintenance (PM) guidelines for water sampling across all water bodies in our data centers, such as cooling towers, condenser and chilled water loops, evaporative systems, and storage tanks, making sure these guidelines meet regulatory and environmental compliance requirements across every region we operate in. You will build these guidelines with Operations, Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO), Industrial Hygiene, Environmental, and water treatment vendors. You will set the serviceability framework for water systems so that sampling, treatment, and remediation happen on time and water quality issues are caught proactively rather than after they affect equipment or availability. You will partner with Finance on labor analyses that turn sampling and treatment needs into staffing plans. You will work with Field Engineering to lead root cause analyses on water quality and equipment findings, and you will make sure the lessons feed back into PM standards and procedures. You will work with Operations and site teams to build operational readiness plans for new sites, then track readiness so every site is sampling and compliant from day one. You will also run field trials and stakeholder workshops to validate procedures, collect feedback and drive continuous improvement.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here
