    Description

Are you passionate about solving complex technical challenges that impact cloud infrastructure at global scale? Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Supply Chain Automation team is seeking a Technical Program Manager III to drive critical programs that ensure AWS data centers have the right equipment, in the right place, at the right time. You"ll tackle never-been-done-before problems involving inventory management, capacity planning, and deployment automation that directly enable AWS"s ability to scale and meet customer demand.

In this role, you"ll leverage your program management expertise and technical depth to orchestrate complex supply chain initiatives across the Supply Chain Operating System (SCos). You"ll work with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions that optimize AWS"s physical infrastructure supply chain. This is an opportunity to shape the future of cloud infrastructure while solving ambiguous problems that require both strategic thinking and hands-on execution.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Lead end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-team supply chain automation programs, defining scope, validating requirements, and driving execution with measurable success criteria
    • Partner with engineering teams and business stakeholders to translate supply chain challenges into technical solutions, creating high-level designs and architectural approaches for the Supply Chain Operating System (SCos)
    • Drive alignment across diverse global teams by managing priorities, dependencies, and trade-offs while proactively identifying and mitigating risks before they become blockers
    • Establish program health metrics and operational excellence mechanisms, continuously monitoring progress and driving process improvements that enhance delivery efficiency
    • Influence technical and business decisions by building consensus across stakeholders, communicating program status through written narratives and presentations, and escalating appropriately to resolve contentious issues

    A day in the life

You start your day reviewing deployment metrics for a critical supply chain automation initiative, identifying a potential bottleneck in inventory forecasting. You organize a design review with partner engineering teams, asking probing questions to pressure-test assumptions and ensure the solution scales globally. After clarifying action items and owners, you draft a concise narrative for leadership addressing a cross-team dependency that needs resolution. You spend time mentoring a junior program manager on stakeholder management, then join a working session where you help engineering and operations teams navigate trade-offs between speed and technical debt for an upcoming launch.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
