Description

Team Red Dog is hiring a Technical Program Manager and Producer for our client, a global technology leader and creative technology powerhouse, supporting the Minecraft Engineering Systems team. In this fully remote role, you will drive day-to-day execution across engineering workflows, coordinating Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog management, release readiness, QA validation, testing dependencies, and cross-team initiatives. Your work will help engineering teams keep builds, tests, artifacts, and delivery pipelines running smoothly while giving Product and Engineering leaders greater visibility into milestones, blockers, risks, and dependencies. This is an opportunity to contribute to one of the world's most recognizable gaming franchises while partnering across technical and creative teams in a highly collaborative environment.

Top Required Skills (Must Haves):

  1. Technical Program Management / Producer experience — 2+ years managing engineering, product, technical programs, or production workflows, with experience coordinating cross-functional teams and driving execution.
  2. Agile / Scrum — Strong working knowledge of Agile or Scrum frameworks, including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, backlog management, team velocity, capacity planning, and milestone delivery.
  3. ADO, Jira, or Confluence — Deep familiarity using project and documentation tools to create and maintain work items, manage backlogs, track tasks and bugs, document pipelines, and maintain sprint and milestone visibility.
  4. Cross-Functional Project Coordination — Experience managing dependencies, blockers, risks, release activities, QA validation, testing plans, and stakeholder follow-up across engineering and product teams.

Opportunity Overview:

Join the Minecraft Engineering Systems team and play a key role in keeping engineering execution organized, predictable, and moving forward. You will facilitate sprint rituals, maintain dashboards and trackers, coordinate release and QA activities, and ensure teams have clear ownership of work, dependencies, and next steps. The role provides an opportunity to work at the intersection of technical program management, engineering systems, Agile delivery, and gaming production while contributing to a globally recognized franchise.

How you will make an impact:

  • Create and maintain sprint and milestone dashboards, calendars, trackers, and transition checklists.
  • Create user story stubs, tasks, and bugs in partnership with leads and Product Managers.
  • Scrub backlogs, identify stale work, and ensure work items have clear owners, status, and next steps.
  • Facilitate stand-ups, sprint planning, triage, office hours, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies either live or asynchronously.
  • Prepare meeting invitations, agendas, pre-reads, and status questions to support effective team execution.
  • Maintain action logs, reminders, workflows, and follow-up activities for blocked or at-risk work.
  • Own feature delivery schedules and work item assignments while tracking team velocity and capacity.
  • Identify, track, and escalate risks, dependencies, blockers, and critical-path issues.
  • Represent features and workstreams in release forums with engineering leads and Product Managers.
  • Review release queries, clear stale work, update fields, and confirm next actions with feature owners.
  • Consolidate changelog review feedback, track open items, and coordinate follow-up.
  • Partner with QA to coordinate validation and test plans, reproduction efforts, regression tracking, and release dependencies.
  • Track readiness signals, unresolved bugs, validation dependencies, partner commitments, and technical initiatives across teams.
  • Coordinate cross-team dependencies and escalate decisions when needed to keep delivery on track.

The expertise you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience in engineering, product or technical program management, data analysis, product development, or production; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies and experience applying them to software or engineering teams.
  • Deep familiarity with ADO, Jira, Confluence, or similar tools for task management, sprint planning, backlog management, and technical documentation.
  • Experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Experience coordinating engineering, QA, testing, release, or software development workflows.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to bridge communication between programmers, creative teams, Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt quickly, manage changing priorities, and remain effective in an evolving environment.
  • Ability to motivate cross-functional teams and help resolve conflicts or remove blockers under tight deadlines.

What makes a candidate highly successful in this role:

Candidates who excel in this role bring hands-on Technical Program Management or Producer experience, ideally within a gaming studio or similarly fast-paced software environment. They combine strong Agile/Scrum expertise with practical experience using ADO, Jira, or Confluence to manage sprints, backlogs, milestones, dependencies, and engineering workflows. Successful candidates are highly organized facilitators who can independently run team rituals, anticipate blockers, drive follow-up, and create predictable execution while allowing Product and Engineering leaders to focus on strategy, technical direction, and team health.
