About this position

SeeScan is seeking a Technical Product Manager to support the ongoing health, reliability, and serviceability of our fielded hardware-software integrated diagnostic products. You will bridge engineering and customer experience through the entire product lifecycle, including sustaining initiatives, pilot run validation, component lifecycle planning, and repair data analysis.

This is a fully onsite position located in San Diego.

Compensation

The salary range for our Technical Product Manager position is $120,000 to $140,000 annually.

This range represents a good-faith estimate based on the qualifications we expect to find in a successful candidate. Actual compensation offered may be less or greater than this estimate based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, our assessment of your ability to bring value to our organization.

We offer

  • A position within an established company that has over 40 years of experience
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Traditional and Roth 401(k) investment options, with partial company matching contribution
  • Flexible Paid Time Off plan with no cap or "use it or lose it" requirement

In your application, include your resume and a thoughtful cover letter explaining why you are the ideal candidate for this position. We are looking for a long-term, in-house teammate to join us, not a contractor or consultant.

In this position, you will

  • Own and prioritize the sustaining product roadmap based on material availability, field reliability data, customer impact, and cost of quality
  • Lead cross-functional investigations into field failures, chronic issues, and product escapes
  • Manage the Engineering Change Management (ECM) process from change request through production release, coordinating pilot runs and defining acceptance criteria with engineering, QA, and production teams
  • Monitor component lifecycle status and maintain a portfolio calendar for end-of-life (EOL) notifications and PCB re-spin timelines, driving last-time-buy (LTB) decisions and alternate sourcing ahead of deadlines
  • Communicate component transition plans across operations, supply chain, sales, and service teams
  • Track and analyze key service metrics (return rates, failure modes, repair cycle times, and warranty costs) to identify systemic issues and drive product improvements
  • Maintain dashboard reporting and KPIs for engineering and leadership audiences
  • Maintain onsite presence to facilitate direct engagement with cross-functional teams and operations

Your background

  • B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in sustaining, product, or manufacturing engineering on hardware-software integrated products
  • Hands-on familiarity with PCBAs, firmware, and mechanical assemblies
  • Proficiency with data tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, or equivalent for building reports and tracking KPIs

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in product management or technical program management
  • Experience with component lifecycle management, EOL planning, and LTB decisions
  • Experience managing ECOs and cross-functional change control processes
  • Familiarity with pilot run coordination and production validation processes
  • Proficiency with SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools for deeper data analysis and dashboard development
  • Background in field instrumentation, diagnostic equipment, or ruggedized consumer/professional hardware

About you

  • Able to analyze field and service data (failure trends, return rates, warranty costs) and translate findings into actionable engineering priorities
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills; comfortable working across engineering, QA, operations, supply chain, and service
  • Able to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining a sense of urgency
