    About the Role

    Tintri's Technical Product Manager owns the deep-system side of the product portfolio - the intersection of product engineering, manufacturing, support, and logistics. Accountable for requirements spanning the full product lifecycle from hardware BoM to software upgrade paths, field serviceability, and supply chain readiness. You'll work daily with Engineering, QA, Manufacturing, and Support Engineering to ensure products are not just feature-complete but operationally excellent.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Own product requirements for engineering-focused features: upgrade/downgrade paths, FIPS compliance, platform hardening
    • Drive hardware and software co-design requirements for VMstore appliance generations
    • Translate manufacturing constraints (BoM, FRU, ECO processes) into engineering requirements
    • Define and maintain platform compatibility matrices (VMware HCL, OS compatibility, protocol support)
    • Own supportability requirements: log collection, diagnostics, field upgrade workflows, RMA-relevant features
    • Maintain product specification documentation in Confluence for all active product versions
    • Participate in CCB (Change Control Board) and PLC gate reviews representing product requirements
    • Serve as the PM point of contact for technical escalations from Support and Field Engineering

    Required Qualifications

    • 5+ years of technical product management or product engineering in enterprise hardware/software
    • Strong systems-level understanding: Linux, storage (NFS, SMB, iSCSI), hypervisors, networking
    • Experience with hardware product lifecycle: BoM, ECO, FRU, manufacturing qualification
    • Familiarity with field serviceability design requirements and L3 support workflows
    • Experience defining upgrade and migration requirements for complex enterprise products
    • Comfortable reading architecture documents, system logs, and performance data
    • Experience with SSDF, FIPS 140, or other regulatory/compliance frameworks preferred
    • Strong Jira and Confluence skills - writes requirements engineers actually ship from
    • Excellent cross-functional collaboration across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Support
    • Background in VMware ecosystem (VAAI, vSphere) a strong plus
