Technical Product Manager
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Platform Strategy & Vision
Platform Governance, Prioritization & Delivery
Oversee intake and evaluation of platform requests from product teams, business stakeholders, and technology partners.
Establish prioritization frameworks, demand governance processes, and investment guardrails to manage competing platform needs.
Own and prioritize the platform backlog and define desired outcomes and success measures; partner with Business Analysts/Product Owners to translate priorities into user stories and acceptance criteria
Lead complex prioritization and trade-off decisions across competing initiatives, dependencies, risks, and resource constraints.
Ensure backlog alignment with platform roadmaps, strategic initiatives, operational requirements, and enterprise objectives.
Partner with Tech Development Managers and Engineering Leads to understand effort, capacity, delivery feasibility, and sequencing across enhancements, maintenance, technical debt, support, defect remediation, and new capabilities.
Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, release planning, readiness reviews, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
Ensure platform requirements, priorities, governance decisions, and service impacts are clearly communicated across stakeholders.
Technical Leadership & Platform Operations
Partner with Engineering, Architecture, Security, Operations, Compliance, and Product leadership to ensure platform scalability, reliability, performance, and technical integrity.
Maintain a holistic understanding of platform capabilities, integrations, workflows, configurations, shared services, and business processes.
Prioritize and sponsor platform health initiatives, including resiliency, observability, reliability, lifecycle management, maintenance, and technical debt reduction, in partnership with Engineering and Architecture.
Track and report platform outcome and service-health metrics, including adoption, availability, reliability, performance, incidents, efficiency, service quality, and value realization, partnering with Tech Development on engineering delivery metrics.
Monitor platform risks, dependencies, delivery issues, and operational concerns and work with accountable partners to drive appropriate mitigation, prioritization, or escalation.
Identify and communicate cross-functional platform dependencies and partner with Project Management and delivery leaders to coordinate resolution across systems, data, integrations, vendors, releases, and service operations.
Assess impacts of system changes, operational requirements, and business process modifications to support sustainable platform growth.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Align stakeholders across business, product, engineering, architecture, operations, and technology teams.
Serve as the primary point of contact for platform strategy, roadmap, priorities, product decisions, adoption, and value outcomes, partnering with delivery leaders on risks, dependencies, and execution status.
Communicate platform strategy, roadmap progress, adoption metrics, service health, and value realization outcomes.
Advocate for platform adoption and best practices throughout the organization.
Facilitate collaborations that balance stakeholder needs, platform standards, customer experience, and technical constraints.
Process Improvement
Establish and continuously improve product management frameworks, standards, and processes supporting platform delivery.
Drive improvements in demand intake, prioritization, governance, backlog management, and performance reporting, partnering with Tech Development on capacity planning.
Identify opportunities to improve platform scalability, efficiency, automation, data quality, and operational excellence.
Support enterprise product operating model maturity and platform transformation initiatives.
Provides product leadership, coaching, and guidance to Product Owners, Business Analysts, and other product professionals supporting the platform.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Licensing
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university preferred.
Experience
Eight (8) years of experience in technical product management, platform product management, product strategy, requirements intake, technology delivery, or shared services/platform role.
Experience with agile development and engineering, architecture, operations, production support, or platform reliability is strongly preferred.
