Technical Process Writer

Job Purpose

  • Develops and revises standardized manufacturing work instruction for electro-mechanical devices based on direction from engineering.
  • Observe and photo document processes during initial setup phases and process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist the manufacturing engineering department with other daily tasks including AGILE entries and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics from an accredited university, and have at least 2 years of applicable manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to interpret both PCBA and assembly drawings to meet customer requirements.
  • Candidate should have solid understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes, specifically related to electro-mechanical assemblies (including printed circuit board assembly and cable assembly).
  • Candidate should have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Candidate must be organized, flexible, and multi-task successfully, while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Candidate will have experience with MES and/or software that maintains bills materials, routings, and production data.
  • Experience working with standards and implementation of standards across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with engineers and managers to understand project requirements/concepts.
  • Work with manufacturing technicians and engineers to understand process details and requirements needed to achieve manufacturing goals.
  • Plan and deliver documentation according to project timelines.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, have a keen sense of creating clear and concise technical content, and exhibit exceptional time management skills.
  • Work with various subject matter experts across disciplines, including product and process engineers and other technical writers, to develop work instruction content.
  • Develop digital documentation in line with existing templates.
  • Capture, edit, and retouch digital photos for manufacturing clarity.
  • Work with manufacturing technicians and engineers to understand process details and requirements needed to achieve manufacturing goals.

Education/Experience

  • In lieu of degree, candidate must have a high school diploma/GED with 2-3 years of applicable manufacturing experience.
