Job Title: Technical Lead - Java, Kafka, Microservices & Data Platform
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Onsite)
Duration: 6 Months
Payrate: $60-70/hr
We are looking for a Senior Technical Lead with strong hands-on development experience to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale data platforms. This is a highly technical role where you''ll build solutions while guiding engineering teams.
Required Skills
- 10+ years of software development experience
- Strong hands-on coding in Java (Python or Scala is a plus)
- Experience building Streaming Data Pipelines
- Apache Kafka or similar messaging platforms
- REST APIs and GraphQL
- Microservices Architecture
- Data Modeling, Canonical Data Models, Schema Design
- CI/CD, DevOps, Containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Logging, Monitoring, Debugging, and Troubleshooting
- NoSQL/Graph databases
- Experience building scalable, high-performance enterprise applications
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable data ingestion pipelines (batch & real-time)
- Build APIs and GraphQL services for enterprise data access
- Develop microservices and platform components
- Lead technical implementation and mentor engineering teams
- Define coding standards and CI/CD best practices
- Participate in architecture discussions, sprint planning, and design reviews
- Troubleshoot production issues and optimize system performance
Ideal Candidate
- Strong hands-on Technical Lead (not just managerial)
- Expert in Java-based backend development
- Experience with Kafka, APIs, and Microservices
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems and event-driven architecture
- Comfortable leading developers while actively coding
