Technical Lead – AS/400

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced AS/400 Technical Lead with strong expertise in AS/400 SYNON, RPGLE, and RxClaim. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading technical activities across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and technical design through development, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Business Analysts and technical leads to clarify requirements.

• Prepare, review, and approve technical estimates.

• Conduct detailed technical analysis.

• Prepare, review, and approve technical designs.

• Perform change control and ALDON activities.

• Lead code development, review, and approval.

• Prepare and execute unit test plans.

• Perform unit testing, debugging, and bug fixes.

• Promote applications to QA and regression testing.

• Review and administer deployment plans.

• Coordinate application deployments and provide production support.

• Engage with Quality Assurance teams and facilitate regression testing.

• Support post-implementation activities during the warranty period.

• Provide technical leadership throughout the complete project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

• 9–12+ years of experience in AS/400 / IBM i development.

• Strong hands-on experience with SYNON, RPGLE, and RxClaim.

• Experience in technical analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.

• Experience with ALDON change management and deployment activities.

• Strong understanding of QA, regression testing, and production support.

• Excellent technical leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with business and technical teams.
