Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Technical Engineer III position! This is a 12+ month contract and will be remote in the United States.
?This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Design, implement, and manage firewall infrastructure to meet current and future organizational needs
- Build and maintain firewall rule sets while ensuring alignment with security and compliance standards
- Engineer and support Azure network and firewall configurations across cloud environments
- Collaborate with technology management, senior engineers, and support teams on technical solution design
- Interact with business partners across all levels to clarify requirements and elicit specifications
- Create and maintain architectural documentation, standards, and policies for supported technologies
- Mentor and coach less experienced engineers, reviewing their documentation and proposed changes
- Coordinate vendor interactions and manage vendor resources as needed for firewall and network initiatives
- Ensure adherence to risk, regulatory, and internal control standards, escalating issues as needed
What You'll Need to Have:
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience with firewall infrastructure and rule engineering
- Hands-on experience with Checkpoint Firewall preferred; strong background with Palo Alto or similar platforms considered
- Solid understanding of Azure networking and firewall engineering
- Strong understanding of routing, virtual gateway protocols (VGP), and core networking concepts
- Enterprise-level experience within a highly-regulated industry such as banking, healthcare, or defense
- Proven track record of hands-on technical execution valued over certifications
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach
- CISSP, Checkpoint Firewall, or Aviatrix certifications are a plus but not required
Pay Range: $60-70/hr
