    Technical Director TV

    Summary

    Entravision is seeking an experienced Technical Director to join our national Spanish-language streaming news operation. This role is responsible for executing live newscasts and special programming with precision, ensuring seamless technical production during breaking news and high-profile events.

    Essential Functions

    • Execute live newscasts and special programming using broadcast automation and production control systems.
    • Switch live productions accurately while maintaining the highest technical standards.
    • Collaborate closely with Executive Producers, Line Producers, Directors, Graphics Operators, and the newsroom to ensure flawless execution.
    • React quickly to breaking news, adjusting production elements and workflows in real time.
    • Monitor technical quality of video, audio, graphics, and live feeds throughout broadcasts.
    • Troubleshoot technical issues under tight deadlines while maintaining on-air continuity.
    • Coordinate with engineering and production teams to resolve equipment or operational concerns.
    • Support continuous coverage during major news events, elections, and special programming.
    • Maintain organized production workflows in a fast-paced, multiplatform environment.

    Required Education and Experience

    • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Technical Director in a live television news or streaming production environment.
    • Ability to understand spoken Spanish and follow live newsroom communication.
    • Experience with automated production control rooms and broadcast switching systems.
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven newsroom with frequent breaking news coverage.
    • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
    • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during major news events.
    • Team-oriented with the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.

    POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

    This is a Full Time position. Must be available to work weekend schedule as necessary. Actual hours and schedule may vary.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

    Reports directly to VP Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives for Broadcast
