    Job Title: Technical Director of Event Technology Services

    Reporting Relationship: Director of Event Technology Services

    Unit: Central Administration

    Department: Event, Classroom/Conference Services - Central Administration

    Campus Location: Phillippe Performing Arts Center, Marion, IN

    Summary of Position:    The Technical Director is primarily responsible for supervision and implementation of all production elements (lighting, sound, & media) of the Phillipe Performing Arts Center and various events located within the Student Center


    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Produce and manage all technical aspects of events that occur within the Phillipe Performing Arts building including, but not limited to: Music & Theater events, and other campus events
    • Facilitate technical aspects of events that occur within the student center - banquet rooms, Globe theater, and Commons area
    • Recruit, train, and supervise IWU students in technical skills necessary to facilitate events
    • Monitor the inventory, condition of equipment assigned with oversight
      • Arrange for repair and replacement within the budgetary restraints
      • Perform preventive maintenance

    Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

    Education

    • Bachelors Degree Required
    • Certification on sound, lighting, & media equipment preferred, but not required

    Experience

    • Prior experience working with sound, light, & media equipment in a live environment is needed to be successful

    Required Skills

    • Attentive to details
    • Excellent customer service and problem solving skills
    • Ability to work without close supervision
