Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Designer (Level 4) to support aerospace production engineering operations in Everett, WA. This role supports the full aircraft lifecycle by creating and modifying engineering designs, resolving production issues, and translating engineering concepts into detailed product definitions and manufacturing-ready models.
The ideal candidate will have extensive aerospace design experience, strong CATIA modeling skills, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams to support aircraft production and continuous improvement initiatives.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced position supporting real-time production needs within a collaborative aerospace environment.
Key Responsibilities
Product Design & Technical Definition
- Create and modify detailed part, assembly, and installation designs to support aircraft production and quality requirements.
- Translate engineering concepts and design changes into detailed CAD models and product definitions.
- Perform model definition updates and engineering-driven design revisions.
- Develop drafted parts and product structures to support manufacturing operations.
Production & Engineering Support
- Provide real-time support for product and process issues occurring within fabrication and production environments.
- Investigate design-related concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Support engineering teams throughout the aircraft lifecycle, from design through production and fleet support.
- Analyze and resolve non-conformance issues associated with aircraft components and systems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Stress Analysis, and Supplier teams to solve complex technical challenges.
- Participate in design reviews, improvement initiatives, and product change implementation.
- Support deployment of new tools, equipment, materials, and processes.
Materials & Process Engineering Support
- Review engineering specifications, materials requirements, and process documentation.
- Support evaluation of electrical, electronic, and electromechanical components used across aircraft programs.
- Participate in engineering lab investigations and failure analysis activities.
- Assist with evaluation of emerging technologies for future aerospace applications.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Minimum 6 years of aerospace design experience
- Experience creating and modifying detail parts and assembly designs
- Strong understanding of product structures, assemblies, installations, and engineering documentation
- Experience with metallic part design and machining principles
- Proficiency with CATIA or equivalent 3D solid modeling software
- Experience using Integrated Visualization Tool (IVT)
