A leading Automotive Finance company, located in Irvine, is seeking a Technical Delivery Manager for a 15+ month contract role. This role will focus on configuration of and migration to AWS (EVS, EC2).Data Center Migration - TDM Role The Technical Delivery Manager (TDM) provides hands on technical delivery leadership for complex datacenter and cloud migrations, including on-premise to AWS and VMware/EVS architectures and global on-premise data centers. The role combines deep infrastructure knowledge with delivery management to coordinate architects, engineers, vendors, and application teams through end to end migration execution and validation. The TDM reports to the Data Center Migration IT Project Delivery Manager.Key Responsibilities 1. Project coordination and planning: Provide day to day project coordination support to ensure project activities are delivered on schedule and within budget. This includes planning scope, milestones, and deliverables, setting timelines, and using project plans and tools such as Gantt charts to track progress and adjust plans as needed.2. Cross team liaison: Act as a bridge between the FTE Delivery Manager, architects, engineering teams, vendors, and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, aligned objectives, and timely delivery. Facilitate collaboration across infrastructure, application, network, security, and operations teams and remove communication bottlenecks.3. Technical architecture coordination: Collaborate with system and solution architects to support technical designs infrastructure. Capture and maintain current state and target state architecture diagrams using tools such as Visio or Lucidchart, and ensure delivery teams understand technical designs and dependencies.4. Requirements and vision alignment: Work with product owners, application teams, and stakeholders to gather functional and technical requirements, helping translate business and technical vision into executable migration plans.5. Quality and testing oversight: Coordinate end to end validation activities across vendors, QA, and application teams, ensuring deliverables meet agreed quality standards. This includes supporting integration testing, user acceptance testing, and ensuring application teams perform thorough end to end testing, including batch processing and downstream dependency validation, during deployment readiness and post cutover stabilization.6. Estimate gathering and budget preparation: Collect estimates for level of effort, cost, and resources from application, infrastructure, and vendor teams, and consolidate them into a unified budget baseline. Coordinate with IT project management and ePMO to ensure estimates are realistic and budgets are properly controlled.7. Executive level reporting: Produce concise executive summaries, status reports, and dashboards highlighting project progress, key milestones, budget spend, risks, and quality indicators. Present updates to senior leadership and executive steering committees.8. Metric tracking: Monitor and report key delivery metrics (e.g., schedule progress, velocity, migration success rates, defect trends) to leadership and stakeholders to support informed decision making.9. Agile ceremony facilitation: Organize and facilitate daily stand ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Agile or hybrid delivery ceremonies to keep teams aligned and quickly surface and address impediments.10. Risk and issue management: Identify risks and issues that may impact migration schedule, cost, or quality. Maintain risk and issue registers, develop mitigation strategies, and communicate escalations to the Delivery Manager and leadership.11. Budget and resource management: Assist in developing and maintaining project budgets, monitor actual expenditures, forecast resource requirements, and ensure adherence to financial constraints.12. Process improvement and mentoring: Promote continuous improvement by applying delivery best practices and standard templates (e.g., Agile/Scrum practices, RAID logs, migration & application playbooks).13. Meeting organization: Schedule and manage regular status meetings, planning sessions, design reviews, and steering committee meetings. Document decisions, action items, and follow ups, and ensure timely communication across teams.14. Vendor management support: Support the Delivery Manager with vendor onboarding, SOW preparation, contract coordination, licensing updates or changes, and vendor performance tracking.15. Documentation and knowledge management: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project charters, migration plans, architecture diagrams, schedules, risk logs, and meeting minutes, to support governance, audit, and knowledge transfer.
