Our client is seeking a Senior Technical Architect to lead the strategy and architecture for modernizing a legacy desktop-based Visual Basic application into a modern Angular and Azure-based enterprise solution.
This is a highly strategic, client-facing role where the architect will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, helping define the modernization roadmap, evaluate architectural options, and guide key technology decisions using an AI-first approach.
Lead architecture and modernization strategy for a legacy Visual Basic desktop application.
Design enterprise-grade Angular front-end architecture aligned with modern engineering best practices.
Advise senior executives on modernization strategy, technology direction, and implementation approach.
Drive AI-first solution design, identifying opportunities to embed AI, automation, and intelligent workflows.
Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define target-state architecture and migration roadmap.
Establish front-end architecture standards, security, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
12+ years of enterprise application architecture experience.
Proven experience modernizing legacy Microsoft applications (Visual Basic/.NET) to Angular and Azure.
Deep expertise in Angular, TypeScript, modern UI architecture, and enterprise front-end design patterns.
Strong understanding of Azure cloud services, APIs, security, and application modernization.
Experience presenting architectural recommendations and influencing executive stakeholders.
Excellent communication and consulting skills with the ability to act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
