Description

Technical Curriculum Developer – AI & Developer Education

Contract: 12-month W2
Pay: $170–$185/hour depending on experience
Location: San Francisco, New York City, or Remote for exceptional candidates

Russell Tobin is partnering with a leading AI technology company to hire a Technical Curriculum Developer focused on building technical AI learning experiences for developer, architect, GTM, and internal/external audiences.

This role is highly hands-on. The team is looking for someone who can both write code and turn technical concepts into effective curriculum. You’ll build and improve courses, hands-on labs, demos, presentations, and learning paths across AI and developer-focused products.

A major part of the work involves building labs in environments such as Google Colab, including writing the code, examples, and templates learners will use.

Responsibilities

  • Curate and improve existing technical curriculum, including courses, labs, demos, and presentations.
  • Build new technical learning paths and curriculum from the ground up for upcoming GTM and enablement initiatives.
  • Create hands-on labs in Google Colab and similar environments, including writing the underlying code and learner templates.
  • Develop curriculum for audiences ranging from developers and architects to GTM and revenue teams.
  • Translate APIs, technical product capabilities, and AI concepts into practical, teachable exercises.
  • Continuously revise and enhance existing coursework as products evolve.
  • Partner with enablement leads, engineers, SMEs, and program owners while remaining capable of independently building technical content.
  • Document curriculum structure and source material so learning assets remain maintainable and reusable.

Required

  • Technical background in Developer Relations, Developer Education, Solutions Engineering, Technical Training, Technical Enablement, or a similar function.
  • Strong coding ability and comfort writing working examples and labs; Python is strongly preferred, though candidates with strong JavaScript or other programming backgrounds may also be considered.
  • Experience building technical curriculum for developers, architects, or similarly technical audiences.
  • Able to independently create working labs, code samples, demos, and technical exercises rather than relying on engineers to build them.
  • Experience translating complex developer or cloud technologies into structured learning experiences.
  • Strong technical writing and instructional design skills.
  • Self-directed and comfortable owning both existing curriculum improvements and net-new curriculum development.

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with LLM products and APIs.
  • Experience with AI/ML platforms, cloud infrastructure, databases, APIs, or developer tooling.
  • Experience building curriculum in Google Colab.
  • Experience with Claude products, especially Claude Code.
  • Prior curriculum or enablement work supporting both internal and external audiences.
