Summary:
Location: Saratoga Springs, NY
Duration: 6 Months
Work Mode: Hybrid, 4 days in office per week
Working Hours: 8:30am - 5pm, Monday - Friday
Responsibilities:
Design custom protection and control solutions, including physical layouts, schematics, logic diagrams, wiring/interconnection, grounding, cable schedules, and other required custom control hardware for custom FACTS solutions for orders and proposals.
Develop Bills of Material for all designs, ensuring consistency and quality throughout all design documentation.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of standard control documentation for FACTS equipment, including protection and control systems.
Coordinate with offshore design resources and project team members on technical matters to meet project specifications, cost control, and schedule objectives.
Interface with internal and external team members such as principal engineers, control engineers, civil engineers, electrical designers, project managers, engineering leaders, and support organizations.
Facilitate the development and execution of cost reduction programs that may include low-cost vendor selection, design improvements, process improvements, automation, and new product introduction.
Support project quality procedures and initiatives, including aspects of ISO9001.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited university or college with minimum 2 years of experience; or an Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with minimum 5 years of experience in the specific field of controls design.
Preferred Skills:
Electrical and controls drawing experience.
Proficient in standard drafting practices.
Knowledge of and experience using IEEE, IEC, ANSI, NEC, AUS, CSA, and NESC standards and codes, with the ability to design packages when no clear customer specification is provided.
Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
