Role Overview We are seeking a
Technical Business Analyst (TBA) / SME with strong experience in
Employee Communications Surveillance (ECOMMS) platforms such as
Smarsh Enterprise Conduct or similar surveillance tools. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and engineering teams, translating business requirements into detailed technical specifications while also contributing as a subject matter expert in communication surveillance systems.
This role requires a blend of
business analysis expertise, technical knowledge, and domain understanding of compliance surveillance systems.
key Responsibilities- Act as a Business Analyst and SME for Employee Communications Surveillance (ECOMMS) systems.
- Gather, analyze, and document high-level business requirements and translate them into detailed functional and testable specifications.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define surveillance controls, compliance rules, and monitoring requirements.
- Work closely with development teams in an Agile environment to support design, development, and delivery of surveillance solutions.
- Serve as a liaison between business units, compliance teams, and IT delivery teams across all phases of the SDLC.
- Perform feasibility analysis, define project scope, prioritize deliverables, and recommend alternative solutions where necessary.
- Support product definition, testing, deployment, and post-production validation.
- Act as an SME for system behavior, data interpretation, and surveillance workflows.
- Write Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) test cases to support QA and UAT processes.
- Support tuning and validation of surveillance rules and NLP-based monitoring models used in ECOMMS platforms.
Required Skills & Qualifications- 3–5+ years of experience in Business Analysis within software development projects.
- Strong experience with Employee Communications Surveillance (ECOMMS) tools such as Smarsh Enterprise Conduct or similar platforms.
- Strong SQL and data analysis skills.
- Working knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala (preferred).
- Experience in requirements gathering, process design, and use case documentation.
- Exposure to testing or tuning Natural Language Processing (NLP) models in compliance/surveillance environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including Business, Compliance, QA, and Engineering.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Preferred Skills- Experience in financial services or regulated industry surveillance systems.
- Familiarity with compliance monitoring, eDiscovery, or communication surveillance workflows.
- Knowledge of machine learning/NLP concepts used in compliance monitoring systems.
