Role Overview

We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst to serve as the critical bridge between business stakeholders and our data modeling team on a large-scale enterprise data platform initiative. This is a communication-first, requirements-focused role. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and facilitator who is technically fluent enough to understand modern data platforms and modeling concepts, and who can confidently translate between the business and the data team. This is not a reporting, dashboard-building, or architecture role.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner directly with business stakeholders across multiple domains to understand their processes, data needs, and analytical objectives through active, ongoing conversations.
• Gather, define, and document clear business and data requirements, translating them into structured specifications and mapping guidance the data modeling team can execute against.
• Serve as the connective tissue between business stakeholders and data modelers, ensuring alignment on definitions, priorities, and expectations throughout the modeling process.
• Work alongside domain experts to understand source systems and data, helping define relationships, business rules, and data expectations across a large landscape of source tables.
• Partner closely with the data modeling team to validate that delivered data products in the medallion architecture (bronze, silver, gold) accurately reflect business requirements.
• Create and maintain clear documentation of business requirements, data definitions, business rules, and requirement-to-model mappings.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or Data Business Analyst supporting data platform, analytics, or data warehouse initiatives.
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills - this is the most important requirement for the role.
• Proven experience gathering business requirements and translating them into clear, technical specifications for a data or engineering team.
• Working familiarity with modern data platforms and concepts, including medallion/lakehouse architecture, Databricks, and Snowflake.
• Hands-on SQL proficiency for data analysis, validation, and requirement definition.
• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts (dimensional modeling, source-to-target mapping) sufficient to speak the language of the data modeling team.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple stakeholders and priorities in a fast-moving environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with dbt or exposure to modern data transformation workflows.
• Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, or data lineage concepts.
• Experience supporting a data platform build-out or medallion architecture initiative.
• Prior experience in complex operational domains (construction, engineering, project controls, field management, or similar).
• Agile delivery experience.
