Job Description:
Theoris Services is assisting our client in their search for a Technical Analyst to add to their growing team. We are seeking a strong candidate to support a growing technology team with requirements gathering, user story development, and testing, while working closely with backend and AI development initiatives. This role is approximately 75% Business/Technical Analysis and 25% testing. The ideal candidate can translate business needs into clear, technically actionable requirements and user stories that development teams can understand and execute. Experience using AI tools to accelerate and improve the creation of user stories and requirements is highly valued.
The Technical Analyst will work closely with backend developers and AI-focused team members and should be comfortable working in a technical environment with Python, .NET, APIs, and AI-related development.
 
Responsibilities:

• Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements.
• Write clear, detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements for development teams
• Demonstrate how AI tools can be leveraged to create, refine, and improve user stories and requirements.
• Partner closely with developers, technical leads, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguity.
• Translate business needs into requirements that technical teams can readily understand and implement.
• Review completed development work against requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Perform functional testing and assist with identifying, documenting, and troubleshooting defects.
• Participate in testing, validation, and overall quality assurance activities.
• Help ensure requirements are accurately reflected in delivered functionality.

• 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst on software development projects
• Proficient with Azure DevOps
• Strong experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and detailed requirements.
• Ability to translate business requirements into clear, actionable technical requirements.
• Demonstrated experience working directly with software development/technical teams.
• Experience using AI tools to assist with requirements gathering and/or user story creation and the ability to demonstrate how you use AI to develop and refine user stories.
• TESTING experience including manual, functional testing, test validation, and defect documentation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of requirements, and proactively identify gaps or ambiguities
