Manager, Technical Accounting Location: Culver City, CA

Pay Rate: $88 $91/hour
Position Overview Our entertainment client is seeking a Manager, Technical Accounting to join its Technical Accounting team on a W2 contract assignment. This position provides an opportunity to work across a global entertainment organization and gain broad exposure to finance, accounting, business development, legal, and corporate functions.
Reporting to the Vice President of Technical Accounting, the Manager will serve as a technical accounting resource to business units, focusing on researching and evaluating complex accounting matters, supporting the implementation of new accounting standards, preparing technical accounting documentation, and assisting with financial reporting and audit activities.
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in technical accounting, U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS, accounting research, and complex transaction analysis, along with the ability to clearly document and communicate accounting conclusions.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a technical accounting resource for complex transactions and accounting matters, including revenue recognition, mergers and acquisitions, business combinations, film accounting, and lease accounting.
- Conduct technical accounting research and develop well-supported accounting conclusions.
- Prepare technical accounting memoranda, white papers, FAQs, policies, and supporting documentation related to IFRS accounting positions.
- Support financial modeling, contract reviews, and other technical accounting analyses.
- Partner with business-unit subject matter experts to understand existing accounting practices and develop future-state processes aligned with IFRS and company policies.
- Research and support the implementation of new IFRS standards, pronouncements, and accounting policies.
- Support quarterly and annual financial statement reviews and external audit activities.
- Assist with accounting training initiatives to promote consistent application of corporate accounting policies.
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Business Development, Tax, Internal Audit, and other teams on special projects, due diligence, and transaction-related initiatives.
- Independently manage multiple workstreams, priorities, and deadlines.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification required.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience, including public accounting and/or related industry experience.
- Significant experience performing technical accounting research and documenting accounting conclusions.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS, with IFRS experience preferred.
- Experience reviewing complex transactions, contracts, or accounting arrangements preferred.
- Ability to translate complex technical accounting concepts for stakeholders with varying levels of accounting expertise.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and an interest in leveraging AI-enabled and emerging technologies to improve research, analysis, documentation, and process efficiency.
