Description

Technical Account Consultant – Strategic Accounts

Due to continued growth, we are looking to add a Technical Account Consultant dedicated to one of our strategic accounts. Regular onsite presence at the client site is expected with a primary client work location in Woonsocket Rhode Island with other locations as needed. The Technical Account Consultant serves as a dedicated technical resource for one of the company's strategic accounts, working alongside the account team through the full engagement lifecycle. This is a non-billable role that blends pre-sales activities — solution design, presentations, configurations, and scopes of work — with ongoing, hands-on technical collaboration inside the client's environment, including POCs, rollouts, documentation, and project support. The ideal candidate is an experienced engineer who builds trusted client relationships and is equally comfortable whiteboarding a solution and working hands-on to implement it.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet with the client, build technical relationships, and assist in the overall sales process.
  • Work with the Account Manager and sales team to develop the customer relationship and solutions.
  • Create solution designs, with support from senior engineering resources, and present them to the client.
  • Create presentations and other customer deliverables.
  • Create configurations for solutions and assist with the quote-building process.
  • Build scopes of work for professional services.
  • Work directly with OEM sales teams, technical counterparts, and product management.

Client Engagement & Technical Co-Work:

  • Serve as the client's primary day-to-day technical resource and technical escalation liaison.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of the client's environment, standards, and technology roadmap.
  • Assist in the delivery of POCs, installations, documentation, and customer training.
  • Work onsite to support project and rollout operations.
  • Work with delivery and fulfillment teams to ensure client expectations are met.
  • Evaluate and develop tools to improve workflow efficiencies for client projects.
  • Independently research unfamiliar topics, processes, or tools to quickly fill knowledge gaps and support ongoing work.

Required Experience:

  • 3–5 years of hands-on server, storage, network, and virtualization experience in datacenter environments, in IT administration, operations, or a pre-sales role.
  • Strong working knowledge in one or more of the above areas.
  • Familiarity with the datacenter product portfolios of major IT manufacturers.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with automation and development tools such as Ansible, Postman, or Git.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems.
  • Solid understanding of current virtualization technologies.
  • Good understanding of orchestration and infrastructure automation technologies.
  • Excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills with a strong service orientation.
  • Strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and communicate technical concepts to audiences ranging from IT administrators to executives.
