Job Title: SOC Analyst
We are seeking a highly skilled SOC Analyst with extensive experience in cybersecurity operations and a strong emphasis on Akamai Web Application Protector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents, ensuring the integrity and security of our web applications. This role requires a proactive approach to threat management and a deep understanding of web application security protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor security alerts and incidents from various sources, including SIEM tools, and respond promptly to potential threats.
- Utilize Akamai Web Application Protector to safeguard web applications against attacks, ensuring optimal configuration and performance.
- Conduct thorough investigations of security incidents, documenting findings and recommending remediation actions.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement security best practices and improve overall security posture.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies, particularly related to web application security.
- Develop and maintain incident response plans and playbooks for various types of security incidents.
- Provide training and guidance to junior SOC team members on security protocols and incident response procedures.
- Participate in security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
Mandatory Skills:
- Strong expertise in Akamai Web Application Protector, including configuration, management, and incident response.
- Proven experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment with a focus on incident detection and response.
- In depth knowledge of web application security principles, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies.
- Experience with SIEM tools and security monitoring technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are highly desirable.
- Familiarity with other web application security tools and technologies.
- Experience with cloud security and infrastructure, particularly in AWS or Azure environments.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as PCI DSS, GDPR, or HIPAA.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- 10 15 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on SOC operations and web application security.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to non technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced, remote work environment.
