Job Title: Backend/API Developer
We are seeking a highly skilled Backend/API Developer with a strong focus on Appian Application Development. The ideal candidate will have 7 10 years of experience in backend development and API integration, with a proven track record of delivering high quality applications. This is a contractor position that offers the flexibility of working from home while contributing to innovative projects.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems and APIs that support various applications.
Utilize Appian to create and enhance application functionalities, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.
Collaborate with front end developers and other team members to integrate user facing elements with server side logic.
Implement security and data protection measures in all backend processes.
Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner to ensure minimal disruption to services.
Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve development practices.
Mandatory Skills:
Strong expertise in Appian Application Development, including experience with Appian's BPM capabilities.
Proficient in backend programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js.
Experience with RESTful API design and development.
Solid understanding of database management systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
Familiarity with cloud services and deployment (AWS, Azure, etc.).
Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with microservices architecture.
Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
Experience in integrating third party services and APIs.
Understanding of front end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
7 10 years of experience in backend development and API integration.
Proven experience with Appian Application Development is a must.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
