    TEAM MEMBER CAFE COORDINATOR
     
    Position Summary
    For over 40 years, North Hill, a not-for-profit senior living community located in Needham, Massachusetts, has provided vibrant living opportunities to people 65+ by offering a host of hospitality, wellness and health care services.  The Team Member Café Coordinator is responsible for supporting the setup and execution of the Team Member Café food and beverage within the North Hill community.
     
    Job Specific Duties
    Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 
    • Prepare food, including cleaning and cutting ingredients, and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers, and snacks using HACCP guidelines
    • Serves food in the Team Member Café and deliver all food to employee line as required
    • Assembles and prepares salad according to recipes for the employee line
    • Performs daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures
    • Collaborate with management to maintain inventory par levels by proactively communicating supply needs and low-stock items (e.g., coffee, cups, etc.)
    • Maintains professional interactions with all Team Members, co- workers and vendors
    • Consistent willingness to help others as needed, always displaying a team attitude 
    • Strong understanding and respect of safe operation of basic kitchen equipment (I.e. knifes) and importance of food safety (i.e. cross contamination)
    • Implements and maintains strong sanitation and hygiene standards and procedures
    • Records temperatures and stores in the proper storage area (freezer, refrigerators, stock room, etc.)
    • Assists Executive Chef in menu planning for Team Member caféMeets department uniform, appearance and grooming requirements
    • Comply with all OSHA safety regulations, local applicable laws regarding health, safety or environment
    Required Skills and Abilities
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and strong customer support
    • Complies with protection of health information (HIPAA) safeguards
    • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
    • Work professionally with people from a wide variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
    • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with Team Members, Residents, family members, visitors, and the general public
    • When working in Resident areas, must be able to communicate effectively in English
    • Attends and participates in in-service educational classes, Healthcare Academy and staff meetings as directed
    Education and Experience
    • High School graduate or equivalent is required
    • 1 to 3 years of dining and serving experience is required
    • ServSafe Certification is a plus. Candidates must be willing to obtain certification upon hire if not already certified
    Satisfactory completion of a background investigation is required for this position.

    Pay Range: $21-$25/hour
    Individual compensation within this range is based on a candidate’s specific qualifications, including education, overall experience, relevant experience, and specific skills.
