The Team Leader, Crisis Diversion and Community Engagement provides shift-level leadership and operational oversight for the Living Room and Community Outreach Recovery Supports (CORS) programs. As a working supervisor, this role supports staff, coordinates daily operations, ensures high-quality peer-led services, and promotes a welcoming, recovery-oriented environment. The Team Leader serves as the primary point of support during assigned shifts, modeling trauma-informed, person-centered care while ensuring compliance with organizational, regulatory, and program standards.
The Team Leader plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of the Living Room model by balancing direct service responsibilities with day-to-day operational leadership. This position promotes staff development, supports continuous improvement, and fosters collaboration with community partners to ensure guests receive timely, compassionate, and recovery-focused support. The Team Leader serves as a role model for peer-led practice and helps cultivate a culture of accountability, inclusion, and service excellence.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision, coaching, and support to Peer Crisis Support Specialists and Senior Peer Crisis Support Specialists during assigned shifts.
- Coordinate daily operations of the Living Room and Community Outreach Recovery Supports (CORS) programs to ensure services are delivered safely, effectively, and in accordance with program standards.
- Monitor staffing, guest flow, service delivery, and environmental safety needs, making real-time decisions to support smooth operations and positive guest experiences.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for operational concerns, guest issues, staff questions, and emergent situations during assigned shifts.
- Model and reinforce recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, strengths-based, culturally responsive, and person-centered practices in all interactions.
- Support staff in crisis intervention, de-escalation, wellness planning, safety planning, recovery planning, and problem-solving with guests experiencing behavioral health challenges.
- Ensure guests are welcomed in a respectful, inclusive, and non-coercive environment that promotes hope, recovery, and self-determination.
- Monitor the quality and consistency of peer support services and provide real-time feedback, mentoring, and guidance to staff.
- Facilitate and support recovery groups, wellness activities, educational opportunities, and community-building experiences.
- Assist guests with accessing community resources, care transitions, referrals, and ongoing behavioral health, recovery, and social support services.
- Collaborate with internal programs and community partners to support continuity of care and successful transitions for guests.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant completion of all required documentation, including service records, shift logs, incident reports, and operational records.
- Support staff in meeting documentation, compliance, and electronic health record requirements.
- Identify and communicate operational, staffing, quality, and compliance concerns to leadership and assist with implementing solutions.
- Support employee onboarding, training, coaching, and professional development activities.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, inclusion, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in staff meetings, training activities, quality improvement initiatives, and program development efforts.
- Maintain compliance with agency policies and procedures, HIPAA regulations, accreditation standards, grant requirements, and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Represent Trilogy Behavioral Healthcare professionally during community outreach, partnership activities, and stakeholder engagements.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support program operations and organizational objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, or a related field preferred.
- Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) designation preferred.
- Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) certification preferred or the ability to obtain certification within organizational expectations.
- Minimum of three years of experience in behavioral health, crisis services, peer support, recovery support services, or a related field.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or shift lead experience preferred.
- Knowledge of recovery-oriented systems of care, trauma-informed practices, and peer support principles.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively support individuals experiencing mental health, substance use, or behavioral health crises.
- Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and community partners.
- Demonstrated ability to provide coaching, mentorship, and support to staff.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and documentation systems.
- Ability to maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support program operations.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, culturally responsive, and recovery-focused environment.
- Lived experience with mental health recovery and/or substance use recovery is highly valued.
