Part-Time Evening Position 3PM - 8PM (approx. 32 hours per pay period)
Every other Friday/Weekend/Holiday mandatory
What you'll bring to the table:
Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve supper meals
Food prep/cooking/baking (must be able to follow detailed recipes)
Ability to handle various ingredients including but not limited to pork, chicken, beef, turkey, fruits and vegetables.
Take/log proper temperature checks
Plating/panning desserts & other foods
Monitor food service quality control/sanitation practices and procedures
Organize/maintain proper storage of inventory, assist with putting orders away in dry storage, coolers and freezers. All food items must be tightly covered/labeled and dated according to the Federal/State regulations
Prepare special textures for residents
Instruct/monitor proper use/cleaning of equipment
Supervise the serving of meals and delivery of water carts and snack carts
Supervise cleaning procedures
Assist with special events
Communicate attendance/staffing concerns to Director of Culinary
Qualifications:
Preferred cooking experience of at least 1 year in a long-term care facility or in a position that included, frequent, large-scale food production
Ability to cook independently for approximately 200 residents daily
Adaptability and flexibility to work a variety of assigned job duties depending on situational needs
Function as a team member, often requiring leadership and problem-solving/decision-make abilities
Excellent time management and organizational skills are required
Ability to remain calm under pressure and ensure food is ready at the specified meal serving times
