Team Lead Logistics Coordinator

NextStep Recruiting is partnering with a growing logistics organization to identify a Team Lead Logistics Coordinator. This role combines hands-on freight coordination with day-to-day leadership of a logistics operations team. The ideal candidate brings strong 3PL or freight brokerage experience, can confidently handle shipment escalations, and enjoys coaching others in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily leadership, coaching, and operational support to a team of Logistics Coordinators
• Coordinate and monitor shipments from pickup through delivery while ensuring timely and accurate communication
• Serve as the first point of escalation for delays, service failures, carrier issues, and other operational challenges
• Maintain accurate shipment records, appointments, documentation, and updates within the TMS
• Train and onboard team members while identifying recurring issues and opportunities to improve operational processes

Requirements

• Previous experience in logistics, transportation, freight brokerage, or 3PL operations
• Strong understanding of the full shipment lifecycle from pickup through delivery
• Previous team lead, mentoring, training, or leadership experience preferred
• Strong problem-solving and escalation management skills with the ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with transportation management systems, Microsoft Office, and other logistics technology
