INTERNAL POSTING Katonah -Lewisboro School District Announces the Following Anticipated Vaca ncy For the 202 6-2027 School Year Teaching Assistan t Special Services Two (2) Positions Available Location: John Jay High School Anticipated Start Date : September 1, 2026 Hours: Full-Time; 10 mon ths Salary and Benefits: $48,355 as per the KLSSA Contract Qualifications: • High School Diploma and Teaching Assistant Certification are required. • Some college coursework or experience working with adolescents in educational settings is preferred. Responsibilities: • The High School Teaching Assistant supports classroom teachers in delivering effective instruction and fostering a positive learning environment for students in grades 9 -12. • Responsibilities include assisting with lesson preparation, providing individual or small group support to students, monitoring classroom activities, and helping to manage classroom behavior. • The Teaching Assistant may also aid in grading assignments, organizing instructional materials, supervising students during non-instructional periods, and collaborating with teachers to support diverse learner needs. • The Teaching Assistant may also assist the building in providing critical coverage for programs such as monitoring the testing center and implementing accommodations found in students' IEP or 504 plans. • Strong communication skills, patience, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed are essential. • The role may require flexibility to assist in various subjects, or support students with special educational needs and other duties as assigned , consistent with provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
