INTERNAL POSTING Katonah -Lewisboro School District Announces the Following Anticipated Vaca ncy For the 202 6-2027 School Year Teaching Assistant Location: John Jay High School Anticipated Start Date: Immediately Hours: Full-Time; 10 mon ths Salary and Benefits: $48,355 as per the KLSSA Contract Qualifications: • Teaching Assistant Certification required. • Provide assistance and work with students to meet classroom expectations. • Assist in prompting of students to follow routine/work production. • Deliver instruction as necessary. • Demonstrate patience, empathy, flexibility, consistency, and reliability. • Strong communication skills. Responsibilities: • The High School Teaching Assistant works under the supervision of certified teachers to support academic instruction, manage student behavior, and assist with classroom operations at the secondary level. • Provide one -on-one or small -group tutoring, reinforce lesson concepts, and assist students with special education needs or alternative learning requirements. • Monitor student behavior during class and transitions, help maintain a safe and inclusive environment, and assist with discipline policies. • Track attendance, record grades, organize instructional materials, and set up classroom technology • Observe student performance, report behavioral or academic concerns to the lead teacher, and occasionally participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings.
