Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated and compassionate
Paraprofessional to support students in
Dearborn, Michigan. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity for an individual who is passionate about helping students succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally within a school setting.
The Paraprofessional will work closely with teachers and related service providers to support students with special needs and help create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Position Details
Full-time, onsite position
Immediate start available
Monday-Friday school schedule
Opportunity to work one-on-one or in small group settings
Collaborative and supportive school environment
Responsibilities
Provide instructional and behavioral support to students under the direction of the classroom teacher
Assist students with completing academic assignments and classroom activities
Support implementation of IEP accommodations and modifications
Help maintain a positive, safe, and structured learning environment
Collect and document student progress data as directed
Assist with classroom organization and preparation of materials
Support students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other school activities as needed
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, administrators, and families to promote student success
Encourage positive social interactions and independence skills
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Associate degree or paraprofessional certification preferred
Previous experience working with children or students with special needs preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Dependable, patient, and student-centered approach
Ability to follow instructional plans and behavior support strategies
