LOCATION: Multi Schools [Roane County High School, Spencer Middle School, Spencer Elementary School (Home school)]
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimal qualifications will include a BA degree and valid West Virginia Teaching Certification endorsed in Wellness PK-Adult, or Physical Education PK-Adult and Health PK-Adult to commensurate with the assignment. Applicants must possess the ability to successfully manage an instructional program for high school, middle school, Elementary School -aged students.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning
Develop instructional plans and organize class time to provide a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and working time
Instruct pupils in subject areas as specified in state law, curricula, and guidelines established by the local board of education and administrative regulations
Provide individual and small group instruction whenever appropriate
Adapt curriculum to the needs of pupils with varying intellectual and special abilities
Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to provide an orderly and productive environment
Supervise pupils in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day, as required
Evaluate each pupil's performance and growth in knowledge and understanding; monitor progress toward learning outcomes; prepare progress reports
Communicate with parents and school counselors on pupil progress; promote positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships
Maintain basic attendance accounting and business services, as required
Serve as a resource person on interdepartmental level
Adhere to all federal, state, and local educational policies
Perform all other duties as assigned, according to need, by the school principal and/or superintendent.

Salary Classification:
Salary based on experience and education level per Roane County salary schedule. Expected range: $42,880 (0 years + Bachelor's) - $75,219 (35 years + Doctorate).
Supervisor:
Principal (SES)
Performance in this position will be evaluated by the building principal/immediate supervisor and in accordance with WV State Code 18A-2-12, WV State Board Policy 5310, and RCS Policy 550, Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
