TITLE: AM Teacher, hourly REPORTS TO: Director of Adult Education or Designee SUPERVISES: N/A TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the Board PRIMARY FUNCTION: To help students learn subjects to pass the GED exams. TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Instruct students on material needed in order to earn their GED. Teach basic skills encompassing math, science, English, and Social Studies. Help students prepare and study for GED exams. Assess students' readiness to take exam. Create projects designed to enhance lectures. Utilize various curriculum resources. Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans. Work with program lead to ensure initiatives are being met. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. Observe and evaluate student's performance. Manage student behavior in the classroom. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: As set by the State certification requirements for the teaching area: GED (107) 1-2 years of experience teaching GED in Spanish Prior experiences working in an environment with adult learners Bilingual, (English and Spanish) EVALUATION: Annually by the Director of Adult Education or designee SALARY: $30/hour DATE: August 5, 2026 New London Public School District is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
