Position Summary - Teacher's Aide for Infants - Preschool Classrooms
The Goddard School® of Greenpoint, located at 85 Commercial Street, Brooklyn, NY 11222 is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher's Aide to join our early childhood education team. Our School is a newly built, state-of-the-art, one-story, 10,000-square-foot learning environment designed with children and educators in mind. Using our proprietary Wonder of Learning® curriculum, you will assist the Lead and Assistant Teachers in meaningful daily activities, inspire young minds, and collaborate with a supportive team committed to high-quality early childhood education.

Compensation: $17-$20 per hour, based on education and experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead and Assistant Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans
- Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions
- Prepare classroom materials and ensure a safe, clean and inviting learning environment
- Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging
- Assist in communicating with families about their child’s progress and daily activities
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations to ensure a secure environment
- Support daily care routines and tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
- Shows empathy and compassion for young children
- Works productively without supervision
- Basic understanding of child development
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
- Must pass required state background checks and meet state minimum education, experience and credential requirements
