Primary Purpose:
To provide and coordinate an approved schoolwide GT educational program that fosters self-directed learning, thinking skills, research, communication skills, individuality and creativity in identified gifted and talented students.
This position provides direct instruction for designated gifted and talented students, as well as planned, purposeful enrichment opportunities for students, conducts professional development, and collaborates with teachers to provide guidance and expertise in best practices for supporting gifted learners and high achievers.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree from accredited university/college
Valid teaching certificate for the appropriate grade level/content area
Classroom experience teaching Gifted and Talented students (required)
30 hours of Level 1 Training in the area of Gifted and Talented instruction (required)
