Teacher: Early Childhood Education/Preschool Instructor-Dual Licensed Ch.74 Early ED

Worcester Technical High School, a blue ribbon technical vocational school, has an immediate opening for an Early Childhood Education/Preschool teacher. This position is currently for a teacher primarily responsible for running the Preschool with integration from the High School students but the dual certification is necessary to have flexibility for primary instruction of the high school students as needed by the department. Please be sure to include your MA DESE certification number as this will allow us to verify that you possess the correct license.

ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE: Teaching and supervision of students in the preschool and Early Childhood Education Technical Program. Instruction and planning to be in line with state frameworks, Pre-school program requirements and certifications and department expectations.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. The development and implementation of departmental curriculum objectives and competencies.
2. The planning, developing and integration of the department's curriculum where appropriate.
3. Maintaining the preschool program with the teaching staff according to standards, philosophy.
4. Facilitate the learning of high school students through live teaching in the laboratory preschool.
5. Planning with the staff of the ECE program for the implementation of changes in the curriculum and or new developments in the program.
6. Providing input in faculty/team performance evaluation of students at the end of each marking period for grading purposes.

8. Performance of other job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education
2. MA DESE teacher license in Pre-K-2 with Special Education as well as Early Childhood Education 9-14, Chapter 74 or ability to obtain within 1 year.
3. MA Early Education and Care Certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.
4. SEI Endorsement
5. Three years minimum successful experience as an early childhood instructor with pre-school teaching and supervision.
6. Curriculum development experience and knowledge of integration of technical competencies with the curriculum frameworks.
7. Evidence of mastery of a wide variety of teacher competencies and the understanding of instructional techniques.
8. Evidence of educational leadership
9. Competent in computer applications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Advanced educational preparation.
2. Evidence of educational leadership.
3. Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs.
4. Ability to speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Twi, or Vietnamese.
5. Pre-school experience with the ability to teach some of the high school classes in the future.
