JOB SUMMARY
Provides for instruction of students by developing, selecting, and modifying instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students. Supervise students in a variety of school-related settings and activities. Prepares, administers, and corrects assessments. Evaluates student performance, develops, and implements plans to improve performance. Maintains required records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Responsibilities:
• Plans, prepares, and presents lessons, assignments, and instructional materials to students in an appropriate manner. • Teaches demonstration lessons to model methods, techniques, and procedures. • Works collaboratively with core content teachers to develop and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students. • Assists in planning and conducting professional development. • Provides regular assistance to classroom teachers in providing intervention activities. • Assists the administration with the development and implementation of programs to address student needs. • Coordinates and administers certification and state licensure examinations. • Prepares students and school for Career and Technical School Organizations competitions. • Utilizes assessment results periodically and analyzes data to monitor student performance. • Monitors and observes the implementation of the school improvement plan and makes recommendations. • Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics:
• Knowledge of school organization, goals, and objectives with special emphasis on teaching techniques. • Knowledge of current trends, research in the field of specialization, and methodology in instructional techniques, technology, multicultural content, problem-solving, and interdisciplinary connections. • Knowledge of and proficiency in technical areas of instruction. • Ability to employ a variety of teaching styles to respond to the needs of diverse learners. • Demonstrated ability to speak and write effectively. • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with students, staff, and parents. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and engage diverse parents/guardians with varied communication styles, levels of skill, and experience to support their childs education. • Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse populations. • Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications, e.g., Video, Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or PowerPoint) preferred. • Licenses and Certifications: Employee must retain active licenses, certifications, and enrollment as a condition of employment. Hold or be eligible for professional educator certification, license issued by Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) required.
