The Teacher Automotive Collision Repair and Refinishing serves as an instructional leader committed to providing high-quality, standards-based instruction that prepares students for success in the automotive collision repair and refinishing career pathway. The teacher delivers engaging, rigorous, and industry-relevant instruction that develops students' technical knowledge, hands-on skills, and professional competencies in vehicle damage analysis, structural and non-structural repair, welding, refinishing, paint preparation and application, estimating, and the use of industry-standard tools, equipment, and software. The teacher maintains a safe, organized, and industry-standard laboratory environment while emphasizing OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, workplace safety, and professional practices. Through ongoing assessment, data analysis, and differentiated instruction, the teacher establishes high expectations for academic achievement, technical proficiency, and employability skills, ensuring students are prepared to earn industry-recognized credentials and pursue postsecondary education, apprenticeships, military service, and careers in the automotive collision repair industry. The teacher also collaborates with families, colleagues, business and industry partners, and community organizations to expand work-based learning opportunities, strengthen career readiness, and support the district's mission of preparing all students for lifelong success.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

SUPERVISES: N/A
JOB GOAL: The teacher shall teach the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards and Industry Based Standards in accordance with the curriculum adopted by the Board of Education with the end goal to allow students to become industry based certified (ASE) upon completion of the program.

Starting Minimum Salary: $61,857.00
Starting Maximum Salary: $96,457.00
Residency Requirement
Under New Jersey's "New Jersey First Act" (N.J.S.A. 52:14-7), all employees of New Jersey public school districts must maintain bona fide New Jersey residency as a condition of employment. Candidates must already reside in New Jersey or establish residency within the required timeframe after hire. Current employees who were hired on or before September 1, 2011areexemptfrom this requirement and may continue to reside outside the state. In limited circumstances, applicants may request a residency waiver through the state's Employee Residency Review Committee if they can demonstrate critical need or hardship; approval is not guaranteed.
