Teacher Assistant Location: Ossining, NY, 10562 Locations: All Aboard has positions available in both Ossining & Valhalla locations, which are easily accessible by public transportation. OverviewTeacher Assistants work closely with the Teacher to create a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for a specific group of children. Teacher Assistants support the Teacher in all classroom responsibilities, while gaining valuable hands-on experience in early childhood education. Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Teacher to develop and implement engaging lesson plans that inspire curiosity and support each child’s development.
- Assist with learning opportunities that build self-esteem, confidence, and essential social skills.
- Actively engage with children through play-based learning to encourage exploration, creativity, and meaningful learning experiences.
- Support developmentally appropriate expectations that foster social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Provide supporting observations and assessments of children’s progress using the approved assessment tools.
- Assist with open, professional, and positive communication with all families.
- Work productively with colleagues and Administration by participating in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to a positive team culture built on mutual respect and collaboration.
Requirements- High School diploma (or its equivalent)
- Credits toward Associates or BA degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred)
- Minimum 1 year experience in the field of Early Childhood Education
- Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
