We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate assistant teacher to join our high-energy team! The
Mother’s Day Out (MDO) Assistant Teacher will assist the teacher in the 2-year-old classroom and work under the direction of the MDO Coordinator to lead, grow, and direct MDO for pre-K students.
HoursThis part-time position will be scheduled for approximately 26 hours per week, Monday through Thursday (MDO class days) from 8:30 to 3:15, including prep time during the week. The MDO schedule is aligned with the MISD school year schedule and is not offered during the summer months or winter break.
Job Responsibilities - Assist children in the fundamentals needed to start kindergarten successfully, including but not limited to colors, numbers, letters, and positive classroom discipline.
- Maintain a calm, loving, child-centered atmosphere in our classrooms that is conducive to learning.
- Honor, serve, and show respect to our families, their children, and members of the childcare team.
- Attend MDO staff/training meetings as required.
- Maintain required health/safety training credentials.
Qualifications - Profess Jesus Christ as Savior and lead by His example: in word and deed with biblical teaching
- A minimum of 1 year of experience teaching a preschool curriculum is preferred
- Must demonstrate knowledge of the care required for the ages of the children you are working with and be physically able to hold, carry, and lift small children.
- Must have a genuine heart for children's ministry and care.
- Will possess the ability to communicate with parents and teachers effectively.
- Have current CPR and first aid training, and/or be willing to get certified at the time of hire.
- Must be 18 years of age or older and pass a background screening and drug test.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- You must have the ability to bend, stoop, and run repeatedly, as well as lift and carry children weighing up to 50 pounds.
