POSITION SUMMARY Under direct supervision, performs duties that are instructional in nature and provides support services to teachers and students. Serves in a position for which a teacher or other professional staff member has ultimate responsibility for the design and implementation of educational programs and services. Assists with classroom instruction, student supervision, assessment administration, and classroom management to support student achievement and maintain a positive learning environment. Qualifications Education & Certification:

  • Valid Educational Aide Certificate as required by the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC). Minimum Requirements (one of the following):
  • Completion of at least 48 semester hours of college coursework from an accredited institution;
  • Associate's degree or higher; or
  • Successful completion of a state-approved assessment (e.g., THEA/TASP or equivalent) demonstrates the ability to assist in instruction in reading, writing, and mathematics.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists teacher(s) with student academic goals by working with small groups of students or individual students.

  • Reinforces instructional concepts and learning objectives under the direction of the classroom teacher.

  • Assists teacher(s) in implementing classroom management procedures and behavioral expectations to create an environment conducive to learning.

  • Assists with supervising students during breakfast, recess, lunch, dismissal, field trips, special events, and school programs.

  • Assists teacher(s) with planning, preparing, and implementing instructional activities and differentiated learning opportunities for individual students and groups.

  • Prepares classroom materials, instructional resources, and learning aids as directed.

  • Assists with administering and monitoring assessments, assignments, and classroom activities.

  • Maintains classroom organization and assists with inventory and care of instructional materials and equipment.

  • Supports student engagement, participation, and academic growth.

  • Assists with classroom clerical duties, including filing, copying, organizing materials, and maintaining records.

  • Communicates student needs and concerns to teachers and campus administration as appropriate.

  • Participates in professional development, staff meetings, and training sessions as required.

  • Performs other campus duties and responsibilities as assigned.
