The Teacher Aide at Dream Center Academy Christian School supports teachers in providing a safe, organized, and Christ-centered learning environment. The Teacher Aide assists with classroom instruction, supervision, classroom management, and daily operations while encouraging students to grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Teacher Aides are expected to model Christian values, demonstrate professionalism, and contribute to a positive school culture through teamwork and servant leadership. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Classroom Responsibilities: - Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom instruction.
- Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning.
- Provide academic support to students needing additional assistance.
- Help prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
- Organize classroom supplies and learning centers.
- Supervise students during classroom activities.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized learning environment.
- Assist substitute teachers as needed.
Student Supervision: - Supervise students during arrival and morning welcome, hallway transitions, restroom breaks, lunch, recess, specials (as assigned), chapel, assemblies, field trips, dismissal, and emergency drills.
Instructional Support: - Reinforce teacher-directed lessons.
- Assist with reading and math interventions.
- Support writing, spelling, and science activities.
- Help students remain engaged during instruction.
- Encourage positive work habits and independence.
- Assist with educational technology and online learning platforms.
Classroom Management: - Reinforce classroom rules and routines.
- Encourage respectful and responsible behavior.
- Help redirect inappropriate behaviors using positive and restorative practices.
- Assist with conflict resolution under teacher guidance.
- Promote a positive classroom environment.
Administrative Duties: - Prepare copies and instructional materials.
- Organize student folders and classroom resources.
- Record attendance or assist with attendance procedures as directed.
- Help maintain student records while protecting confidentiality.
- Assist with bulletin boards and classroom decorations.
- Inventory classroom supplies and notify the teacher when materials need replenishing.
School Responsibilities: - Participate in Teacher Professional Development, Faculty Meetings (as assigned), Open House, Parent Events, Spirit Week, Field Day, School Programs, Chapel Services, Graduation Ceremonies, and Community Outreach Activities.
Communication Responsibilities: - Communicate respectfully with students, staff, and families.
- Refer academic or behavioral concerns to the lead teacher.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
- Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
Professional Expectations: - Arrive on time and prepared each day.
- Follow school policies and procedures.
- Dress professionally according to the employee handbook.
- Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to assist where needed.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and administrators.
- Participate in ongoing professional development.

Education & Certification: - High school diploma or GED (required).
- Associate degree or college coursework in education (preferred).
Experience: - Experience working with children in a school, church, daycare, or youth program (preferred).
Skills & Abilities: - Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Professes a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
- Active member in good standing of a local Christian church.
- Demonstrates a lifestyle consistent with biblical Christian values.

- Willing and able to pray with and mentor students, families, and colleagues.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT - Ability to sit and work at a desk, computer, and phone for extended periods.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the campus as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (files, office and classroom supplies).
- Primarily indoor office environment, with occasional off-site errands for school purchasing and support at school events.
